Pure 18k white gold and silver top coat Mariah Carey over Chanel Azure

Hey my lovelies!  So here I am feeling a little bored so I thought I would swatch the geourgous Pure by Mariah Carey...her creation with OPI brings you a very special topcoat.....one that infuses real 18k gold and silver in a beautiful leaf effect.

Those that remember the awesome Skyfall film last year will know OPI released a whole host of polishes relating to Bond movies, and came up with the man with a golden gun....another gold topcoat.  That release saw the polish community go mad, I am not much of  gold lover but the polish addict in me HAD to own it, just because.  This one is along the same lines....I wouldn't wear it all of the time but I am glad I own it just because, A, I LOVE Mariah and B,....its real gold baby!!!

Now the business side of things.  Man its expensive! These are selling at almost £30 (plus VAT) in Sallys....that's one pricey polish, and it tells you something about my obsession that I am willing to pay that just because I feel I need it in my collection!  I decided to layer this over Chanel Azure.  Whilst I love the combination of the 2 together...or should I say, the idea of the 2 together...I don't know if they complimented each other in the best light.

Azure is a polish worthy of awards on its own basis, it is stunning and one of my fave polishes this year..it is bright, beautiful and everything Mimi loves.  Check out my post on it here .  With this topcoat on I felt this dulled azure.  It wasn't the leaves...they looked so pretty and very Christmassy together....I think it was the actually base colour of the topcoat that did it no favours.

In certain lights it added a yellowish tinge to the polish....hmmmm I don't know if it is just me seeing things or the lighting, I'm not sure.  I will be defo swatching a few more colours to see if it does indeed have a yellowish base to it instead of clear, as I believed it would be.

That said, I do love it.  Can I see a clear difference in the silver and gold flakes? not really to be honest....I properly could if I looked really hard but on face value the flakes arnt distinctly different immediately.

Dry time was excellent and dried very very smooth.  It applied beautifully and evenly..so top marks there.  So I'm guessing people will either be falling over to have this or pass because the price is so high.  I am glad I own it and I'm looking forward to using it nearer to Christmas as I think it is perfect for the holiday season.

A match made in heaven, Chanel Bel-Argus and Azure Gradient

Hey Chikkas!  Hope you are all having an awesome Saturday!

Today I am showing you guys a couple of polishes I have previously reviewed on the blog before, the difference being I used  them together as a gradient....ohhhh la la they are perfect together!

Bel-Argus and Azure both captured my heart when I saw them on sale and I knew I had to have them, separately they are stunning...together they are perfection!

My daughter wanted her hair dip dyed so we did it with a turquoise, light blue and dark blue, when she said she wanted her nails done to match, these were the two colours I used.  I loved them so much on her I decided to do it on myself to!

I added a touch of golden glamour by adding a touch of L'Oreal Gold Lurex glitter to the ends....LOVE this...what do you guys think?

OMG my new favourite polish Chanel Azure

Damn damn damn I am in love.....a love so big I wish I could dress this polish up in a tux and marry it!!!!  Last week (I think) I reviewed the awesome Chanel Bel-Argus (find it here ) and I genuinely thought I had bought the best of the 3 polishes from this collection, I mean, its blue and beautiful so I thought that was me sold.

That pesky Azure kept calling me and I gave in...wow I am glad I did....it is freaking AMAZING!!!!! I apologise for the spam of pics but I just loved every one so I had to post them.

This polish is a stunning turquoise metallic finish.  Unlike Bel-Argus, Azure has a pretty dramatic colour shift quality to it, when the sun hits it, boy is this pretty.  I love the way the colour shifts from a gorgeous turquoise tropical green to having stunning dark blue filtering the outside in...if that makes sense, I think my pics will do the talking!

Application, formula and dry time were A+.  There really is no negative to this polish...have I told you I LOVE it!!!

Looky at more pics!
I hope you guys love this as much as I do...o buy it, like NOW cos this is a limited edition...and I own it!! YIPPEE!!

Chanel Bel-Argus and Loreal Gold Lurex

Hey guys.  I have such a beautiful polish to show you today, this baby should come with a warning it is that nice!!  I was perusing around Bluewater and just so happened to pass all the lovely beautiful polish counters (funny how that always happens! lol).  When I spotted the new releases from Chanel....my heart skipped a beat!! Azure is another beauty that I am yet to own....but trust me, I will!!

So Bel-Argus is a limited edition metallic stunning shimmery blue.

I love how the blue shifts to different shades of blue depending on the lighting, in one sense it could be a super light blue and others it shifts much darker....in some lights it actually looks like it glows on the nails...perfection!

Application was faultless, it was smooth and fast drying, as you would expect from Chanel.

I don't usually spend so much money on one polish but man, I felt positively regal knowing A, this bad boy is Chanel and B, knowing not everyone will be wearing this shade!  I truly think if blue is your colour then you NEED this in your life!

For added glamour factor I did a reverse gradient effect with L'Oreal Gold Lurex.  OMG I love this polish!  It is the gold glitter topper I have been searching for!  It is so beautiful and perfect!  Set in a clear base it is full of small golden glitter.  They lay perfectly smooth to the nail.  I adore this because i  tend to not  like in your face larger golds, this is the perfect alternative!
